What is Ortho-Bionomy?

Ortho-Bionomy is an, osteopathically-based form of body therapy that was developed in 1976 by British osteopath Dr. Arthur Pauls.  This wholistic and pain free technique is highly effective in working with chronic stress, injuries and pain associated with postural and structural imbalances.

An Ortho-Bionomy practitioner uses gentle movements and positions the body to change stress and pain patterns. A strong focus is placed on the comfort of the individual and no forceful manipulations are used.

This gentle system of bodywork is very effective in helping to alleviate acute and chronic pain as well as stress patterns by reducing muscle tension, soothing the joints, increasing flexibility, improving circulation, and relaxing the entire body.

An Ortho-Bionomy practitioner will help a person "un-stick" the fight or flight patterns within the body re-discovering how to keep their body functioning in a harmonious way.

Dr. Arthur Pauls definition of Ortho-Bionomy is: Ortho as straight or correct; Bio means life; nomy means pertaining to laws.
